Filter Usage and Maintenance
To maintain the desired CFM level, airflow must remain normal. If the
airflow is reduced, the suction power of your dust collection system will be
directly affected. The durability of the filter bag varies within very wide
limits. Depending on the operational conditions, type of dust, dust load, or filter
stress, the filter life expectancy is one to two years. The filters should be
checked frequently for proper attachment, wear and any tears in the fabric. Use
caution not to let the filters rub against the ceiling or walls at your
facility. During normal operation, a certain dust layer (commonly called cake) should remain on the
inside of the bags even after cleaning. This layer will increase the high degree
of separation.
In case the concentration of the fine dust in the air is extremely high, the
filters can be cleaned through "beating" or "shaking" the filter bag material.
To do this - be certain to turn the electricity to the unit off and shake the
filter bags by hand. We suggest that this process be done on a daily basis. This
allows for the removal of the "cake buildup" inside of the filters and prevents
clogging and assists in restoring normal airflow. It is also possible to clean
the filter bags with an industrial strength vacuum cleaner. After an extended
period of time, (usually one or two years) you may want to purchase new
replacement filter bags from DustCollectionBags.com.
Note: DO NOT WASH OR DRY
CLEAN THE BAGS, FOR THIS WILL CLOG THE PORES AND RUIN THE CORRECT
OPERATION OF THE FILTER BAGS. THEY SHOULD NOT BE EXPOSED TO MOISTURE, AS THIS
WILL SHRINK THE FABRIC.
